The practice of optimizing brand content and digital presence to be discovered, accurately represented, and recommended by AI language models.

AIO Index

Signal AIO's proprietary 0–100 scoring system measuring brand visibility across AI platforms, based on mention rate, citation quality, accuracy, sentiment, and competitive position.

BreadcrumbList

A schema.org structured data type that describes a page's position in the site hierarchy, helping AI understand content organization.

Citation Seeding

The strategic placement of brand information in authoritative sources that AI models reference during training or inference.

Citation Velocity

The rate at which new authoritative citations about a brand appear over time — a leading indicator of improving AI visibility.

Entity

A distinct, identifiable thing (brand, person, place, product) with consistent attributes across knowledge sources. Clear entities are easier for AI to recognize and recommend.

Entity Disambiguation

The process of making an entity distinct from similarly named entities so AI models can correctly identify and describe it.

Entity Engineering

Deliberately building and maintaining a clear, structured digital identity for a brand so AI systems accurately understand and represent it.

FAQPage Schema

A schema.org structured data type that marks up question-answer pairs, making them directly extractable by AI models for citation.

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

Alternative term for AI Optimization — optimizing content for generative AI engines rather than traditional search engine ranking.

Hallucination

When an AI model generates plausible-sounding but factually incorrect information, including about brands.

Knowledge Graph

A structured database of entities and their relationships. AI models often reference knowledge graphs (Google's, Wikidata) to ground their responses in facts.

llms.txt

A standard file format (placed at /llms.txt) that provides AI language models with concise, structured information about a website or brand.

Mention Rate

The frequency with which a brand is cited in a representative set of relevant AI prompts — a core component of the AIO Index.

Prompt Intelligence

Research into which user prompts trigger AI recommendations in a given industry, and which brands those recommendations favour.
